This charming Merewether home was a former workers cottage underwent a transformation over a 5.5-month renovation, reimagining the existing residence into a light-filled, functional home designed for modern coastal living. The project involved updating the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry and living areas to create a more open and connected layout while retaining the character of the original home.

At the heart of the renovation is a beautifully detailed kitchen featuring shaker-style cabinetry, Livio natural stone benchtops from CDK Stone, Fisher & Paykel appliances and brushed nickel accents from Parisi, complemented by warm timber flooring and soft neutral tones throughout the home. The bathrooms were redesigned with full-height tiling, imported Italian terrazzo tiles and contemporary fixtures to create calm, timeless spaces.

Externally, the home was refreshed with new windows and natural cedar entrance door, a welcoming timber porch and updated landscaping that enhances the home’s street presence. The result is a relaxed, coastal-inspired renovation that balances thoughtful design with everyday functionality, creating a home that feels both elevated and effortlessly liveable.
